A house with history

Built in 1908 and once a vicarage, West Acre House retains its Arts & Crafts character. Oak woodwork, deep panelling and individually furnished rooms make this a home with a story. Bruce and Jeannette have welcomed guests here since 2004.

An acre of garden

The garden surrounds the house on all four sides. Mature trees, shrub borders, open lawns and secluded seating offer somewhere different to enjoy in each season. Discover statuary amongst the planting, take a gentle wander or find a quiet seat with a book.

The long herbaceous border, planted in 2022, brings colour through the growing season. Our sheltered patio is another favourite place to sit and enjoy the surroundings.

The Garden Room

Light from windows on three sides brings the garden into our comfortable guest lounge. Settle into an armchair, chat over a cup of tea or spend a quiet hour planning tomorrow. The Garden Room is available throughout your stay.

A proper breakfast

The east-facing dining room overlooks the gardens and catches the morning light. Each bedroom has its own table for two; tables can be brought together for friends staying with us.

Enjoy a traditional cooked breakfast, fruit, cereals, toast and preserves. Please discuss dietary requirements before your stay so we can explain what we can provide. Our kitchen handles gluten, nuts and other allergens; we cannot guarantee the absence of cross-contamination.
